The Gap: Financial illiteracy exacerbates dependency ratios, leaving women economically vulnerable and more susceptible to abuse and domestic violence. This not only reduces social welfare but also hinders long-term rural development.
My Vision: Finance Behen (sister, in hindi) is a social initiative designed to foster a sense of sisterhood while empowering underprivileged women through financial literacy seminars. By instilling values of self-sufficiency and financial autonomy, I aim to upskill women, enabling them to make informed financial decisions and improving their economic stability and employability.
Impact: I have conducted over 15 seminars for women from rural backgrounds—including survivors of domestic violence—focusing on fundamental financial concepts like budgeting, saving, and investing in mutual funds. Delivered in Hindi, these sessions incorporated interactive techniques such as storytelling and visual aids to make key principles more accessible.
